HTS Doesn't have a core charge if you are short on the cash. Sometimes that last 1-2k can be a big deal. They arrange all the shipping, send you out a transmission, and you ship yours back to them.

If you plan to build big power (up to 800) you should talk to Dave @ Goerend. Dave is a great guy and he is very honest.

If you want the best transmission made to handle monster power (above 800hp) I believe an Ultimate Transmission with Opie's huge shafts is only way to go.

I have tried very hard to break this thing...Two shots of nitrous, 30psi boosted 4X4 launches, and all that goes with it.

Here is mine.

I am looking at transmissions again. I researched this subject a while back and ended up getting one from Goerend for my 03. It was a good choice, the transmission is great as was his customer service. I am now looking for a trans for my 06. I will be racing this truck at the local drag strip and am thinking of a set of twins. Would an ultimate be a better choice this time?
I guess it comes down to how strong are the current billet shafts being used in transmissions and is that the only weak link to be concerned about?

I have power. My ATS handles it well. They also have dealers all over the country to help with shipping.

I have no ambition of making that kind of power, I always thought that 500 at the tires would be alright, to be realistic, the power i have now probably would keep me happy if i could get it to the ground. But on the other hand I dont want to do the converter and vb and then break a shaft...... if im gonna do the input shaft then it all gets done and we no longer have any worries.

Yes that is the way it works... I have a Goerends and have abused it for a year now and it is great.

No, the billet shafts are not the only weak link to worry about. Clutches usually burn up before the shafts break.

Dave is a great guy and his customer service is top notch. Like others have said, he won't try to sell you anything you don't need. I had his tranny in my 05 and never had a single problem with it at all. And I've heard of people running trucks with real high hp slip a tranny and he takes care of them 100 percent no questions asked. You can't beat his warranty, price, quality and customer service imo.

the $8000 dollar tranny they are trying too sell you is not on their website.....either that or it is the race series tranny installed!!!

If it is not installed then it is the ULTIMATE tranny that they are starting too sell.....that is the tranny that is in Mike Drever's race truck....and so you know that is still the original tranny they put in there 3 years ago with all those passes and mid 10s runs. Also Project X runs with a NADP tranny

I just got my ULTIMATE trans with all 3 of opie's standard shafts and I love mine. I decided that I might as well only do it one time. Dave from Ultimate was great to work with also. It also helped that he is right here in Idaho and he got me going again fast when I lost my stock one.
