Towing with Smarty?? also, quest on boost fooling..

i didnt see anything about not towing with smarty on level 7.. it does state do not tow heavy on stage 1.. i dont tow anything more than a trailer and some bikes that weigh no more than 3k lbs total.. do you think its cool to tow on #7??

also, the smarty does boost fooling. does that mean its a waste to use the quadzilla fooler along with the smarty?? thanks in advance..

i use my guages and just keep an eye in my egts when towing. i used to use 7 but lowered it to 5 so i didnt damage my tranny to bad before the good stuff gets added. i know it does some boost fooling, but i dont know what levels or versions it does it on. so i continue to use my quad bf.

Quadzilla Commander works with Smarty....monitors stuff. Why can't an Outlook work as a monitor with the Smarty?

I don't like the boost fooling Smarty files on my truck. Throttle response is better with the stock turbo file with a boost fooler for some reason.

I run a quad boost fooler with my smarty and it does fine most of the time. when you just drive normal it does some strange things. on the floor it does good. I dont know how hard #7 is on a stock tranny, I run mine on #9 all the time, I want to get the hot programs when I get a new turbo

stick with the quad boost fooler& stock turbo program. My truck will still set overboost codes without it.

I tow on level 5, but less than 5k lbs. EGTs are in check, 1200 degrees at WOT, which is less than stock.

Where does it say to not tow heavy on level 1? I've looked a couple time and I'm missing it. I'm not saying it's not there. I just can't find it.

I figured I would tow on level 1 to save my tranny until I can upgrade it, so I'm very interested in this.

The outlook can be used as a stand alone unit, or it can be used with the triple dog, or it can be used with other programmers, but you can only change levels on the fly if used with the triple dog. The outlook even has a menu to configure it to different vehicles. That is how it works on my 06, you should call them and find out if the same applies to your 07.

On edit: The only time my outlook remains blank is when it is not plugged into the OBD port. As soon as it is plugged back in after programming it works. Sometimes I have to reselect the vehicle. You need to call them and make sure you have the right version of outlook for your or your buddies truck.

the red paper it came with says do not tow on level 1 timing is too aggressive..

I didn't see it on the site, but in the past, it has been discussed and recommended that you do not tow on level 1 due to the increased amount of timing programmed into it. I believe level 1 was written for fuel economy while not towing.
