I have both an 03 and 04 but your problem probably the ecm as mine shifts like butta on the 3/4 shift but it is very throttle sensitive...If you keep over 75% TPS then it won't shift until 3k and then the shift drops it right to the sweet spot of tq and hp and off like a jet. If you soft pedal it will shift at 2500 and that is the minimum you want towing. A 2300rpm shift is grannie stuff. KS

700 RPM drop is not a TC lock, that's a shift.

If you're at 2300 RPM around 50 MPH, you're definitely in 3rd gear.

My T/C locks up almost instantly after the 3-4 shift. Sometimes I can run higher in the rpms before it locks and sometimes it locks right at 50 mph. The 50 mph lock up is harsh.

I thought it was obvious that we were talking about a 3/4 shift and lock up but yes his original comment is off a bit.ks

This is definately not the 3-4 shift, it's right after that... it's at lockup

Like you said, it must be an 05' thing, because mine is exactly the same.

You must have an awefully sloppy converter. I know mines a 47re, but mine drops maybe 200 rpms.

Dan is not talking about the shift into 4th "harshness" or shift and lock-up timing. He is talking about the the loosness of the TQ, Dan that does seem to be abit too much RPM drop on lock up to me, have you talked to dave yet? Dan the new experimental FCA testing is alomst done and will be sending one your way to test real soon.

If you are revving 2300 in 4th to get 53mph I'd trade that tranny in on a shopping cart. If you drop 700 rpm at 2300 rpm that is one sloppy loose TC. That would be 66% efficient....are you still using the stock TC...It sounds like it. What is the stall on that converter....4500rpm ...You don't need a hopped up CP3... you need a good tranny as that is just crazy. KS

Sounds to me like it's shifting from 3-4 then immediately locking up the TC at the same time. A shift plus TC lockup will drop it that many RPM's. I doubt there's anything seriously wrong with your tranny/TC.

We youre pullin 22,000 on the G/N and your T/C locks at the same time as the 3-4 shift at 50 mph ITS ONE HECK OF A SHIFT and hell on the turbo. I've called Dave with this concern twice now and he tells me the same thing. "We can either turn down the line pressure or wait till DC comes out with a TSB for this. Turning down the line pressure will NOT provide enough pressure to keep the T/C locked" He also tells me that the newer 04.5 and the early 05's are notorius for this. The RPM will only drop around 500-600 during the shift
