I just blew it off because I can drive around the little stuff. A guy just needs to apply more brakes if it doesn't want to slow down.

This morning I went out to start it up early and as soon as I turn the key on it has a LOUD buzzing sound on the drivers side of the engine. It changes pitch from hi to low

It started fine... Of course I can't hear if it is still making the sound after the engine is running.

Doug60,

I never tried completely bypassing the tst. I took the mp-8 completely off because someone told me it might be causing a problem. It made no change. The timing rattle on start up is the MAIN reason I took it off. It sounded BAD!

The one that I used was borrowed. If it were mine I would've gladly given it to you to get it out of my site Or ran it over with my limp mode truck

Luke why keep running a program that is not working with your combination?

The new software is working fine.

I took the Smarty off because it had so much timing rattle on start up.

When I took it off it screwed it up. Maybe the new software is working fine but I don't have the ***** to try it again. It would be different if I had the connections to have someone come fix my truck that knows what the heck he's doing if it screwed up again but I don't. And I really don't have the money to take it to the dealership... Luckily when I put the bully dog on, it fixed it.

To be honest I was going to come home, download the latest and greatest and try it again.

Anyone who would've had a truck like mine last night would feel the same way.

Can you please tell us how much timing the Smarty adds on even numbers or why it doesn't play well with another box that adds timing. I think it would be a BIG help to someone in the future who is trying to stack.

Thanks

He did say that. I talked to him again this morning...

I won't drag him into this.

So are you saying you suggest downloading new software, loading it back on and see if that fixes the loud buzzing sound that is coming from the drivers side of the engine...

After having the problems I did last night, I don't think anyone in there right mind would try it again.

I'm not avoiding anything....

I was taking if off to download the latest and greatest software that you pm'd me on the tdr.

I just didn't get that far before the damage was done...

I didn't check for codes. The buzz is below the intake manifold on the drivers side. It's LOUD.

Speaking of avoiding questions. Can you explain to me what the version you sent me in the pm does compared to the one that is currently on the Smarty. I asked several times and never got an answer.

GW would also like to know. He asked me and I told him I didn't get an answer.
