I plan on upgrading to Flux 4's or 5's in the Spring and I'm going to try to do the same thing paulb is recommending.

Hey guys.. I have been kicking around the idea of running propane, would running timing 4 be good for that?

So you went with timing #1 on odd sw? Bob told you to run #0 or default on odd, right? Which would be using the advanced timing already worked into the sw by Marco. I am going to try #2 and #1 and #0 default. I have never tried them. I have only done #3 and #4 on the TNT. Mulisha, I will let you know. I would do what Bob told you, he would know and I am sure he has seen what makes the best on the dyno.

Well, Bob would know. He knew your mods right, like turbo and fuel set up right? Im sure when marco dynoed and created the tunes, the timing (default) he set for the odd sw as the timing he discovered had the best performance. So why not run default?

Got it, hit #0 in the option menu......and that will bring the odd sw back to running marcos advanced timing, which is default. Got it

hitting the #0 will only save that setting into the smarty. the timing won't actually change until you download it into the truck (does that make sense?). this may be what you've already did, but i wanted to be sure.

Selecting 0 default is not its on timing map.It just means you are gonna be running advanced timing 2 if you select an odd # sw an timing level 1 if you select an even # sw.Remember the even #sw's were for originally for running with another box(like tst) that does timing also. Now with the revo tunes if you opt not to run default and select a timing #(1,2,3,4) this is what you will have on all sw's.Will this make sw 8 and 9 the same,I don't know for sure but it does make sense they would be based upon the older Smarty tunes being both were the same except timing.

I run timing 3 for most of the time.My truck likes it for all purpose driving. If I was going to get on the dyno tomorrow I would run timing 2.I get some timing rattle on 2 but its not bad and it does feel stronger.I just don't like to hear all the rattle driving all the time so thats why I run 3 mostly.I personally don't see any reason to run timing 1(stock) unless you are letting another box do timing or you have some insanely large injectors(flux 6.?) and even then timing 3 or 4 might still be the better route.

Im going to try timing 2 today, so when I go into my option menu I will do this sw7, tq3, tm2, rp2, this form my current sw7, tq3, tm3, rp2. Lets hope I get no timing rattle..... I will post the results in an hour after I make the 7 mile trip into town since my two boys want pastries for breakfast.

Some timing rattle is ok.People have got so use to these CR's being so quiet that they think any rattle is bad.You will have to be the judge of what is too much.I say this for daily driving.I would be a little nervous towing heavy on timing 2 with my set up.
