Tnt ?

What RP are you guys seeing @ cruse (70mph) on RP-2 vs. RP-3 I'll try SW #7 to start. Maybe SW #9 later if my CP-3 can keep up.

I put the TNT in this afternoon. SW-7 TQ-2 TM-2 RP-2 & Ran it for a few minutes. Seems pretty close to 4.4, but not quite. I may bring the TQ up to 3, & play with TM-3 , on SW-9 & see what happens tomorow. For some reason my truck with the HTT 62/13ss/65 needs less timeing to build proper boost. Don't know why, but on default timeing on both 4.11, & TNT I have trouble hitting anything over 39-40#. On 4.4 I hit 42# easy.

seems like everyone is saying the betas run harder then the tnt tune. Maybe cause the betas fuel so hard on the bottom end that makes it feel nasty??

Same here, I used to be able to hit 44lbs, now I have trouble hitting 40lbs. Still trying to dial it in...

I called HTT about a month ago about my boos on 4.11 aftermarket turbo & they said the 4.11 had the timeing too high. I ran the aftermarket inj/turbo for a little while & it was better, but 4.4 realy did the trick. I think I'll try TM-3 & see what it does.

I did some seat of the pants testing today, & I got TNT SW9,TQ3,TM2,RP2,WG-off to get real close to what 4.4 felt like. Only got to 41#boost, but very little smoke, & pulled hard as far as I could get it where I was. I don't know what my RP was, but I'll run it here & see if I can get my RP gauge in soon, & find out.

have you verified your actual wastegate settings on a bench with a mechanical gauge?

Thanks

Bob. No, I haven't had the turbo off the engine. It was installed right out of the box. I'm assuming that it's set @ 40-42#. HTT also told me the same when I called them when I was runnig 4.11 Aft-Turbo, & could only get 38# out of it. When I was running 4.4 I could hit 42#, & it would get there before 2800 rps, & hold there. With any of the newer software, I have trouble getting 0ver 38#. With the settings I'm running now, I can hit 41.3#, which is pretty close. It takes a bit to get it there thoe. Thats on Sw9,Time-2, RP-2 WG off. I'm considering turning the Time up to 3. But the truck runs prety well as is now. Any advice about the timeing?

Put 100 miles on TNT today. I was able to hit 42# briefly in O/D but had to back out. Normal WOT boost is still 38# but the truck flies. Very little black smoke once the turbo spools. I'd still like to get my 42+# boost back, but as it is now it runs as good as 4.4 I think.

I should try this. I love the 4.4, but I want less smoke. Do you suggest I give this a try?

Thanx.

I should add that I want less smoke while cruising around, I am not that concerned about WOT smoke.

Thanx.

I'd say go for it. I don't know what your boost levels are with your turbo. My truck doesn't like the advanced timeing, but it's ajustable. Give it a whirl. Takes 1/2 the time to down load too. Just save 4.4 to the HD so you don't lose it.
