I have always heard that lifted trucks did not tow as well. I don't know if that's true or not. I do tow a 24 foot enclosed Pace Shadow car trailer quite a bit with either my '23 Ford street rod or my '04 Corvette Z06 inside. I like the Extang soft cover very much. I had one on my 2001 Dodge 2500, too. I keep a full Noah car cover on my truck at all times and the Extang shows no signs of fading or thread rot. I never haul anything in the bed, so I can't speak to the ease of rolling up the cover. I just think it looks good on the all white truck with the few factory black accents. The cover is all black. I will get pics of the cover as well as the wheels and tires and try to get them posted in the next day or so.

Your explanation was very good but I thought the mm to inch conversion would just elaborate some and hopefully make it easier to do.

I'll admit I had to search the web for that conversion.

I dont know about you old folks but on a TI 85 calculator if you hit the second button then the number 5 you can convert just about anything.

Length, volume, mass, wieghts, just about anything.

that one feture is almost worth the 80-100 dollar price tag.

FWIW I had to have one for highschool then college.

The 255/70 setup is the largest that you can go with a stock 4x4 truck. You need a 2" leveling kit on a 2wd to fit the sam tires. With my lift kit (4" font, 2" rear so the truck is level) along with pushing the front axle forward 1", I can run 295/75s which range around 42". The 255/70s are 37" tall. I am doing this because I too want more "beefy" tire look, especially in the rear. I am going to run the same wheels though to giv the tires a little more buldge. I might even run a super single in the rear which is a 455/50 on a 14" wide rim with the 295 upfront. Unfortunately, all of the tires in the "300s" are way too tall for any practical lift. They are all 43" and taller.

if the longer arms push the axle forward, how would you address the coil position? fabricate a lower mount?

I believe so yes. I don't know much about suspensions.

You need to account for the 5.5 inch difference in wheel diameter when you do the math. A 265/75/15 would be shorter than a 265/75/19.5.

i'm leaning very much towards the wheel and tire setup you are currently running. do the tires stick out at all? front and/or rear??? and are you considering any type of mud flap? the sumitomos are very nice!!

The tires don't stick out at all in the front, especially with my flares. My 295s won't either, but in the rear they stick out about 1-2" because of the extra spacing the Alcoas give. I have not planned on any mudflap since I have the whole truck wrapped in 3M Mylar film. I look forward to seeing your setup!
