tire questions

Just wondering if 35 x 12.5 R 17 tires will fit without a levelling kit or not, most likely will be mounted on stock rims, or may go too an aftermarket rim not sure on that one yet.

TIA Jon.

I'm running 315/70/r17 (about as close to 35s as you can get) on stock rims and no lift. They do rub a little at full lock. I have a 2" leveling kit on its way. That should solve the problem.

Buddy has them on same truck as mine, and just like Silver stated small rub at full lock....however we tore up his front fender in the field when we bottomed out the front suspension while turning...not pretty! I have the KORE hd levelling kit and we put them on mine to 'test' and no issues...oh and they looked great. Now I want 315's. BAD!

Sorry, told you a big story, but didnt really answer.

Yes you can get away with them, stock rims and stock height, but a levelling kit would be advised!

Here is a pick of my 06 with 2" levelling kit and 285's. Did the tires first, then levelled, and now I think that the tires look to much like 'pizza cutters'.

mcmlv, are your centerlines 5.7" offset??

I am planning on the toyo's but not sure if a different offset would make a difference.

BTW, where can i get a levelling kit? Is it just a 2" lift in the front? If so, could i just use coil spacers from the local auto store?

TIA Jon

I bought a KORE HD levelling kit, and it actually lifted about 2.5". There are much cheaper ways to go though. Set of spring spacers for under $200. I see you are in Edmonton, there is likely someone local, but if you want KORE you have to go to Calgary....HighRollerz Trucks. PM me if you want phone # and address. Great guys!

there are alot of KORE dealers here in edmonton, i was just wondering if the 2" coil spacers at crappy tire would effectively give me the same thing. BTW, @2.5" does the front end site higher than the rear by eye?

I dont want to say you are wrong, but I dont think there is a KORE dealer outside of Calgary, but I havent talked to them for a bit, so possible, but there will not be more than one for sure!

And no, this is a complete system that replaces the front springs, shocks, and bumpstops, billet drops. I was not happy with the ride, so this is why I went with this option. The blocks will give you the 'lift' but not the ride and handling. And you are absolutely correct in saying it 'looks' higher in the front now, but with a level, it is still rear high. It is very deceiving though by eye. I am considering 2" blocks in the rear now.

Hell Bent Steeel makes a good set of spacers for cheap (about $100). I've run them on 2 trucks so far and liked them a lot. Truck still rode and drove like stock. No issues whatsoever. I've always gotten them through their e-bay store. Item number: 190053765955

Just wondering, do you need to get a wheel alignment after putting in the spacers?

TIA Paul

I'm curious about the spacers too! Can't make upmy mind on just to get spacers or get coils and Bilsteen 5100's? Would I really be able to tell a difference in ride?

Sorry to jump into this tread.

Thanks

spacers or coils will depend on what you want to do with your truck.

if mostly on road, spacers and shocks should be fine.

If you do some off road, thinking a leveling kit would be fine

If you want to go fast off road, more of a complete system.

and the 35s will fit without a lift, there may just be some control arm rub with stock offset wheels.

Mine are 6" backspace wilderness series. I love the setup, no problems of any kind so far. Truck track straight no wibrations at all. It sure is good to see the RPMs stay low at cruising speed. I think i will try 37" next time, but I am pretty sure I'll need some form of lift. By that time I'll save some $$.

Cheers,

Peter
