Tire fitment question

What is the largest tire you could fit on a 2003 Ram 2500 4x4 4dr shortbox CTD 6 spd 3.73

The stock tires on this one is LT265 70R17, but Im sure you guys already knew that

The stock tires kind of look O.K. but would be nice to fill the wheel wells a little more and not kill performance. I may also be considering a 2" lift front and back. Any recommendations.

Thanks

from what i'm told with no rub at all a 305 can go in nice, most report a little rub at full wheel turn with 315's. some have reported no rub with 315's with a 2" leveling kit, 315's won't be a problem...

Correct!!

285s look pretty good too.

Actually 245s are stock and 265s are optional..

I have the same basic setup as you. I am running 315's on the stock rims and am getting a slight rub at full lock. Anything smaller will have no rubbing at all. Hope that helps.

I just put fender flares and mudflaps on mine and the H2s rub the mudflaps now. I knew it was going to be close but I was hoping it wouldn't rub. Oh well, it will rub for a while only.....

Milage and Speedometer

How does changing to bigger diameter 315s affect mileage and the speedometer?

Thanks!

City mileage goes down about 1-1.5mpg, highway stays about the same and the speedometer will be off about 8.7% slow.
