Why not run the adapter and keep the fuel heater?

The adapter that goes in place of the oem pump on the back of the cannister?
If so I went that route just so I could make use of the heater.

Question here...

If you unplug the heater harness and the water in fuel harness...do you get a code?

I think the actual port size as well as the filter as too restrictive to me.

I will put flow ahead of haveing a heater and a water seperator right now...but????

I have an AD100 and is hooked up to the back of the stock fuel canister. Before I had the AD100, I had a Raptor 100 installed. The Raptor has the 1/2" coupling for the back of the stock canister. So I just left that line on and connected the AD100 w/ the 1/2" line that came w/ the Raptor.

I have no restrictions, but I am at stock hp also. I also currently have my stock filter in there. Just too lazy at this time to drain the bowl and remove the filter. I will remove the filter at normal change and leave it out.

One mine I just left the fuel filter canister in place. the sensors are still connected. Heck it still has the filter in it, heck it could still have diesel from three years ago. I will have to open the drain sometime and see. I have never thrown a code because of it.

Im going to remove the filter from the canister. Since the FASS is doing all the filtering no need for the canister filter, correct? What do you guys think.

Uh, yes fuel heater is not needed for me. I get irritated when the grid heater kicks on at 40*.

I run my fass thru the stock filter and have no pressure issues due to the restriction, whatever it may be. With a heavy fueled truck my main concern at first start up is burning as much fuel as possible till she warms up so I will keep my stock filter just for the heater. If it cost me a few ponies to heat the fuel and get a better burn on cold days Im willing to loose them. JMO

I believe the only reason for the "fuel" heater is to keep the stock filter from waxing!! If you are running a FASS or Air Dog there is no need for the stock fuel heater anymore.

Why?

My standalone 2 micron waxes or "cold fuel fouls" far sooner than any line gelling or wazing...

Read the fine print. Filters clog far sooner than lines or pumps....Fass, Airdog or whatever.

This is what I would do if I was running a FASS. The stock filter is useless if the fuel has already been filtered down to 3 microns.

The empty stock canister would hold a nice "reservoir" of fuel. Not sure if that could really help in any way though.
