Is there a way to make the 05 48RE hold 3rd gear like the 03-04 model CTD does. correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the earlier version drop OD when you press the OD button?
Thanks

Either build your own OD lockout kit or send BD $250 for theirs.

Its not quite that easy.

You have to fool the ECU on two different feeds, and make sure the operations don't trigger codes when they engage. Either build the components and figure out the voltages and resistance, and the sequence that will work without tripping the codes or you have to do a step by step manual process.

By the BD product and save yourself the trouble unless you really enjoy this kind of work.

The dealer can now reprogram your tow/haul button to lock out OD. It is then like the earlier trucks and that is all the button does. It is NOT like the '06 where the button will lock out OD or set it to tow haul. Do a search. There was a thread a few months back on that update.
