Superlift 6" Lift
Superlift 6" Lift
I have a chance to purchase a 6" superlift suspension lift for cheap money. Only issue is that the coil springs are for the hemi and not the cummins. How much of an issue would this be? Are the Hemi springs able to support the wieght of the cummins or will they sag over time? Curious as to what you guys think, thanks
going by these numbes i was able to find in a quick search it will sag from the beginning... i wasnt able to find weight specs on a 6.7 but i was for the 5.9...
hemi = 485lbs
5.9 cummins = 1,150

5.9 cummins = 1,150
well if you are getting a really good deal on the kit you might be able to afford 6 inch diesel springs. Top gun customz sells 6 in springs for under $250 i believe.It just all depends on how cheap this kit is that you are looking at.
Hmm, you make a good point. The guy said he would sell it to me for $150. But from the picture it only showed the 4 control arms two front coil springs and two front shocks, no block kit for the rear and i dont know if it comes with the track bar drop bracket or new pitman arm ect. Do you still think this is a good deal? Thanks
I'd buy it, taking it the kit that comes with rear blocks and u bolts and regular shocks is around 1,100 dollars, yes I would buy it and then just order some new front coil springs. I believe if you go to the site you can buy just the coil springs for the kit. I would buy front coils and rear blocks. The bump stops and all are nice, but you could fab up your own for a lot less
My advise...
Buy a complete kit from a reputable company...
Make sure it has all the right parts you are going to need to retain proper drive line angles and such.
Otherwise you are making you are making your truck unsafe for you and everyone else on the road/trail.

thanks for the advise guys, i am not sure what i will do, like Megacabdad said, i would probably be better off buying a brand new kit, but on the other hand i could probably piece together everything i need for less then half of the cost of a new one.
I'm not saying that you need to buy the most expensive, brand new triple bypass shock, off road, Baja tested, lift kit for $9,000...
I'm just suggesting that you don't turn you truck into a wobbly, vibrating, death trap.
