superchips good/bad pros/cons

Have an opportunity to get one very reasonably. Is this a good unit or what? It would be there top of the line one. Is this untraceable like the smarty? basically just looking for some feedback. Thanks

All programmers are traceable, if they look hard enough. But certain ones erase key counts. Not sure on superchips, I'd be a little warry.

superchips erase the key counts. when it originally came out it was a good running program but they have since detuned it and it's worth nothing more than a paper weight in my opinion.

I had one and it is like a edge ez power wise but voids your warrenty. Its not worth it, buy a smarty.

This is a very smart freindly group as I'm sure they are great... but, I also aquired one (SC 3805)very inexpensively. There is definately a difference from stock. Highest EGT I have seen is 1350. I mated it with a quad boost fooler (also found cheap) and I'm relativly happy. Need more up grades further down the line to make much more power than I do now. Just my 2 cents.

I had a super on mine before the Bully dog. It was fine, low egts, a little more power and never messed anything else up. I won't create big horse power but if you are looking for a little more to help tow it does just fine.

if it's an original (pre-update) 3805, and you can get it real cheap, it's not a bad programmer and the performance setting will give you good power. once it's been updated, it's pretty weak, and can give you some pretty high egt's. btw, it does erase your key counts, and even though the display shows an 'extreme' setting, there is only tow and performance.

it would be the 3950. Can you really change shift points with it? Will it change downshift points also? Thanks for the info.
