Stainless Exhaust
GreenZ - I emailed Holset the other day asking if they could get me the cast elbow that is being used on the '04.5 Cummins Ram. They told me that the elbow has not yet been released as a stand alone part. And it will be several months before it's available.
Before contacting Holset, I called my local Dodge house and they basically told me the same thing. They don't show it as an individual part, but as a part that's included with the turbo.
I think I can wait, I think I can wait, I think I can wait.....

Thanks for the info! I didn't know the cast elbow was different on the 04.5. Is the elbow 4" throughout? If so, It will be interesting to see what the exhaust brake companies will do. They told me they would not build a 4" exhaust brake elbow because they already have the 4" inline brake.
Questions for you 600 owners - Have any of you measured your turbo elbow and exhaust? Is it 4"?
You know, I'm not 100% sure about that elbow being 4" all the way through. I kinda took for granted that it was since all the guys that own a '04.5 say their system comes from the factory with a 4" exhaust system from the turbo back. When someone says that, I take it that everything about the exhaust system is 4 inches. Though I may be wrong since some aftermarket exhaust companies claim by adding their 4" exhaust give you a complete 4" system from turbo back. Well, it doesn't due to the elbow right after the turbo.
I too question the 600 owners. What's the real story about your cast elbow? Is it 4 inches??
And I'm still puzzled as to why someone would build a complete exhaust system except for the little piece called an elbow. Is it harder to create an exhaust that matches up to the turbo than it is to match up to the elbow? It's not that much more pipe just to bypass the elbow and go straight to the turbo.
