Thanks
First off the red top was because I had to paint the lid do to burning the original clear doing all the welding,so I spray bombed the ethching primer, then rolled some international red tractor paint because thats what I had,I wished I had been more patient and had it powder coated instead.
Now as for what I did to the box (short version).Cut the lid into 3 pieces and capped the now open ends. The two ends appox 10" wide are screwed directly to box since thing no longer open, and the center is reattached to the hinge.I didn,t have to do anything to the latch since they were in from the end far enoph to not be affected. Then I made two drip channels to go under the seems now in the lid to direct water to edge of box.Inside I cut the two corners (clearance for stacks) and formed up heat shields and attached with stainless screws (because I didnt want to burn off any more clear and doesn,t show anyway).I made two flanges (for each stack) one out of stainless for the top ,and one out of mild steel for the inside (plasma cutters sure make life easy).I then welded a band clamp to the bottom one ,only about an inch weld on one side so clamp still functions. Then run stacks thu the two flanges, sealed in between with silicone, screw the two flanges together with stainless screws and tighten band clamp on stack. Now that Ive bored you guys ,heres the pics, hope they make sense.

Im in the same boat. I spent half an hour looking at my brand new UWS box trying to figure out if I could hole it. Guess I might save a few bucks not stacking.

WHADA,

Thank you for sharing, that is an absolutely fabulous build. Everything looks great, sounds like it functions just the way you intended and turned out second to none!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the IH red REALLY tops off your whole project!!!!
