Exclamation Stacks finally installed. question:

Hey all, finally installed my stacks today. They sure do sound good. Pics to follow. I do have to say that at idle, the truck vibrates more. Has anyone else noticed this? Any clue why? Thanks in advance.

no, not hitting the frame. It Y is sitting on the bed ever so slightly. I guess that may be my problem. You cant hear it, just feel it. You guys think that could be it?

That and just the frequency of the noise coming from the stacks. At certain RPM's I can see my rear view mirror vibrating from the harmonics of the stacks.

another question: When you guys used that clamp that goes through the bed, How did you tighten it up. When I put mine in, the back part of the u bolt was ok, but the front portion was inside the box cross member. I used a 1" hole saw to get a nut on it, but the u bolt was right next to the side of the crossmember. Should I just cut another piece of it out? Id hate to hack that thing up anymore than I have to...

the factory exhaust is pretty well isolated from the rest of the truck but the stacks are pretty much rigidly mounted to the body. I think that might be part of the drone problem most of us with stacks have. the stacks caust the front bulkhead of the box to vibrate which in turn causes the back of the cab to vibrate also. I mounted the base of my stacks on rubber and the upper clamps are also rubber cushioned on the stacks, and my truck doesn't seen to be as bad with the drone.

Didn't use the clamp. I had it welded up, 1 piece. As far a the crossmember, cut out as much as was needed and then welded in a brace.
