stack install

stack install

i dont know why but this stack install has been a real pain. first the down pipe broke and then the hole in the bed wasnt right....an now my question...what is the easiest wat to get the stack into the other tube without messing them up?when i go to put them in it feels like there getting beat up a little.

Not sure if you could do this Steve, but what about wrapping them up in something or sliding them on with some cardboard on either side to protect them from being damaged.

I wrapped a towel around mine and just wiggled the stacks down into the pipe until it was fully seated. It helps to have someone stand on the "Y" while your doing this.

I coated all the joints with high temp anti sieze and they went together pretty easily. This way, hopefully, if they ever need to come off it will make the job easier. Oh, and did it by myself with alot of in and out of the bed to make sure everything was straight.

stacks

Steve, I lightly sanded the base of the y-pipe, and the stacks themselves. Then add a penetrating oil with antiseeze and they slid in and were able to move to adjust the turn I wanted.
