I ran a 62-65-14 before twins and she spooled very fast and i had zero issues with egts even pulling 10k. The 71 wheel spooles a little slower and is tougher to drive the speed limit. Your foot has to be in it to keep egts in check at least thats how my 6 speed with that turbo responds.

I have both, an auto and a 6speed currently. I have tried both turbos in both trucks and hands down the 65 spools better and is easier to tow with

The 65 is a better towing turbo in my opinion.I have had one and now have the 71 wheel.Trust me when I say, there is some slight lag(71 wheel) with a 6 speed and there will be even more lag on an auto.If towing is your primary concern then 65,if you are willing to compromise a little on spool up for more top end then go with the 71.

I ran one of the early htb2 62/12s and then switched the turbine housing to the 14. Didn't see much differance other than crusing empty boost was less with the 14. Towing a load there wasn't much differance. Made 500 hp with both.

Sorry, misread the post.If its an sps then it has the 71 wheel.Didn't realize you could get a 12cm housing with the 71.I can't comment on which is better other than the smaller housing should spool slightly better but with slightly higher drive pressures.
