Spray on Bed Liner
Spray on Bed Liner
I would like to take out the Factory bedliner and replace with a spray on. Any suggestions.
One shop I went to said they use a hot mix spry on. I think they said 400 degrees. Claimed better adhesion.
Thanks

Look out, boy are you in for a bunch of replies. Perhaps you would like to do a search for "bed liners"?
They're all good, better in fact than a drop-in in MHO (my humble opinion). I went with Speedliner (Speedliner.com) more because I liked the perfectionist guy who installs them. Any of them are only as good as the installer. Line-X, Rhino, etc. Some are offered premixed in factory colors and guaranteed not to fade or peel. My advise is look at lots of their references. Some installers can install with ruff finish or smooth.
Good luck and welcome to the site.

I sprayed Durabak in mine, and it turned out pretty good, and was cheap. But it was a royal PITA and I wouldn't think it will hold up to commercial use, but my limited bed use it should be fine. VERY non-skid.
I'd say for the best stuff, go Line-X

I had LINEX sprayed on mine. Plus the running boards, mudflaps & 137 gallon bed mounted tank. Its been 3 years and I am completely satisfied. The running boards, etc. were pretty well beat up aluminum with 200K miles on them.
The only thing I did have problem with was one chunk came out while moving a milling machine and a sharp edge caught the end of one of the bed floor ribs. LINEX recoated it for free.
Oh yeah, and VERY non skid.

I had an Arma-Coating liner installed in a 1989 Ford P/U in 1994 in Alaska. It has survived -40 degree cold up there and 109 degree heat in Phoenix, AZ. I have pounded the dog out of it with outboard motors, rock, brick, wood and have only two very small tears in the liner. They also has a lifetime warranty and will do repairs to a damaged liner which most companies will also do. They can do colors and when compared to Rhino it is much smoother with medium hardness, so light items will slide but most other items stay put except under extreme braking.
I was planning to have the same done to my 03 QC but they were too far away. Had a TOFF liner sprayed in and have been happy. Hope it holds up as well as the Arma-Coatings http://www.armacoatings.com/ Time will tell. Definitely get references as a great product poorly installed in useless.
Good luck,..............dogger

I went with Line-X on my bed and rockers. I agree with the othetr people the most important part is the installer. I would look at other trucks locally and get their advice. Especially people who use there bed (contractors etc) to see how theirs are holding up.
