Speed Limiter remover?
Is there a module that can be plugged in somewhere on 3rd gen to remove the speed limiter that does not have any performance mods, just the speed limiter removal. Not something that is required for daily driving, but would nice to have for the track.
I was wondering the same thing, as well as if there is something that will eliminate the torque managment at low RPM's and allow full power all the time. I love the feel of my dad's 99 with a chip it just pins you in the seat from the get go, where the newer ones take like 1 second then they go, be nice to just light them immediatly
BD Power makes the top speed eliminator for the 04-05 trucks. It splices in to two wires under the hood with a toggle switch in the cab to turn it on and off. When you turn it on, it caps the signal from the Vehicle Speed Sensor at 90mph, so the speedo stops climbing at 90, but the truck will continue to accelerate.
The BD RAD (racer's antidefueler) disables Torque Management (TM) and the top speed governor on the 2003s. For the 04s and up they offer just the top speed eliminator. I don't think TM is an issue on the 04s and up. Supposedly TM went away in 04. Would have to confirm that with BD.
One thing I've noticed is that the boxes available for the 3rd Gens all seem to fuel according to available boost, so you have to wait for boost to come up before you get 100% fueling. I do miss the 1st Gen and 2nd Gen days when you mashed the pedal and got 100% of available fuel instantly. The only box I have tried that had wicked low end was the TST Twins version. It starts fueling when it sees 4lbs of boost and is all in at 12lbs of boost. Since it is dumping in so much fuel, the time it takes to go from 4lbs to 12lbs is nothing, so that is about as close to "everything, instantly" as I have been able to get. It eats turbos though.

I am pretty happy with the low end grunt of the Power Pup. There does not seem to be too much lag at all. I am just wanting the speed limiter gone. It hits 116 and falls flat on it face. It would be nice to atleast see it go to redline in OD so that you can see what it is truley capable of.

would there be any issues(mechanical, warranty, etc.) to be worried about if installing the BD RAD? It seems to me that since the torque management went away on the 04's, that it would not be an issue to eliminate the TM on my 03...or am I missing something? My truck is a slug off the line and would love to have all that power right away like my brother's 05.
