South Bend DD noise ??

Ok I just got the clutch installed. When I push the clutch in it has a rough sound to it. The clutch petal is stiff, I do have the 3600 springs so no big deal. other then that it is quiet and smooth. Just a little worried about the sound when pushing in the clutch is this normal? I would have called Peter at South Bend but it was to late.
I think I might have to cut the muffler off and turn up the radio

when the clutch is depressed you will hear some rattling that is normal. nothing to be worried about. if you get a fluid damper it will quiet it down some.

If you have an SBC DD and it doesnt rattle when depressed there is something wrong with it.

If you want to quite the sound of the rattle of a double disc down you shouldn't be a diesel truck owner...

Fluidampr will squelch the vibrations from the tranny (gears etc.) which does entail some noise but mainly greatly reduces vibration.

The audible racket you hear when your clutch is depressed is floater plate (2nd flywheel) doing its thing (floating).
The fluidampr will not help with float noise/rattle (if it does its negligible/not much).

Like coal train says its part of the game.
