south bend clutch

Hey i have a 2004 with the HO and six speed. I sled pull may be five times a year. I found a south bend dd clutch, but it is a ductal flywheel. It saya it is rated for 650 hp and 1300 ft lbs but it is not SFI approved. Do you guys think it will hold up to sled pullin a little. I dont do it alot. An SFI approved clutch is like $1700- 2000. I can get this one for $1200. Please let me know thanks.

No it will NOT hold up to sled pulling, Do not pull sleds with a flywheel that is not certified.

No the ductile clutch comes in the 3600 flavor as well. The difference is simply that the fly wheel is not rated for competition by SFI and should not be used in that manner. It is a lighter weight flywheel and not designed to withstand the abuse of sled pulling.

that would be scary for the flywheel to come apart and through the floor at you. the light flywheel is not balanced or heavy enough to take the stress and load of sled pulling

Go over to CompD Kevin Cole aka (Twistedgoat) has a haisley street puller for sale for 1200. They will hold everybit of 650hp. Brother has over 30 hooks on his and only had to adjust it and he daily drives the truck every day. If you need a link to the thread pm me.
