Smarty Tommaro Do I need To update It??
I ordered a smarty for my 07 from a local diesel shop. I should be getting it tommaro. Do I need to update it or any thing before I start to play? Thanks for you help.
well when you get it plug it in a see what program you have and go on the smarty website and see if you have the new program in it most likely it does since you bought it for a 07 they just come out with that program.
Might as well start with the latest version of the software if it's not already on it, i'd download it. Check smarty version on the unit when you first plug it in and compare to web version.
i updated mine and changed to mod trq management and it killed my mpg. like 2 lower than normal. it smoked LESS too. egts and boost is down and i like that. cant decide if i want to go back to the original but i want the better fuel milage....this is on 5 btw

Rusty... you lost 2 mpg on Mod TM?
Hummmm.... Maybe I will go back to the "Normal" version. I did get my best MPG on a tank to date with the Moderate TM on #7 at 55-65 MPH on secondary roads. Driving real careful not to use much fuel. 20.08 mpg with a 6 speed.

That was when it was a little warmer. Also running the a boost fooler, which I am not sure I need. (gauges are being installed as I type along with clutch and e-locker) I will be better able to tell how my truck is running after I get it back.
My average tank is 18-19 MPG. With some tanks as low as 16-17 with some towing or plowing ... I live in the hills of NH so my highway has a lot of up's and downs'. I live on the top of a ridge so any time I go to town I have to climb back up.
Shorts trips kill me too.
I may try the less aggressive TM program ans see if I get a 1-2 MPG increase.
