Smarty ? s on settings

I know the evens are more power and odds are same with added timing. What are the advantages and disadvantages wit both, besides the egt being higher without the timing added.
My truck sounds alot smoother on evens but the egt do go up by about 200 to 300 degrees higher.
The rattle I hear on odds is quite loud and virtually gone on evens.

What you're hearing is normal with added timing. And as you found adding timing reduces the EGTs.
The reason the SMARTY offers both settings is due to the fact some people stack other performance boxes that also adds timing. Too much timing is not a good thing.

So add timing, turn up the radio and enjoy the reduced EGTs.

I run the odd numbers w timing....like the reduced egts, power,....the latest vrsion on the web had less timing rattle than previous ones...might want to try it....also, the pending beta 4.4 totally eliminates the rattle....

FWIW smarty 4.4 on level 5 with the tst on standard or late twins with an added 3*s on 3/1, no rattle for me.

Chris, go ahead and get some big boy injectors. The only problem is, then you need a cp3, and while you got the valve cover off you may as well do springs, then since you went that far you aught to just pull the head and bottom tap it right for studs and now that you have springs you should prolly get a cam too, oh and when you win the lottery call me and I can give you some more advice.
