Smarty Questions

Well im considering purchasing a smarty but i want to make sure it will suit me before dropping the cash. i tow about 3-5k almost everyday for work and i want to make sure the smarty would be good for that as well as future performance goals. my trans is currently stock so i plan on running one of the lower settings for now until i upgrade the trans. what exactly is the catcher software i have been hearing about anyway?

what other mods would be recommended w/ the smarty? i do plan on adding a cfm+ intake and a set of twins in the future as well as building the trans. anything else to consider?

my fuel system is stock, what will i need to upgrade to take full advantage of the smarty later on?

and lastly, w/ a relatively stock truck and towing everyday is the smarty for me at this point? i know the smarty jr. is available but i dont want to waste $$ on it only to have to upgrade later when i want to make alot more power in the future.

If you are planning on twins, I would cough up the extra dough for the Sr. One thing I have really enjoyed with the Smarty (especially after owning the Superchips and Diablo Predator) is how quickly it changes performance levels.

I have not towed yet, but I will real soon. But I can't believe how much cooler the EGT's are with the Smarty, much cooler than just stock.

I tow 4-5k all the time with mine on level 7. Gauges are important. I think the Smarty will be great on lower settings probably 3 or 5. You'll need a fuel system such as a fass or GDP walbro setup once you start going beyond level 5 after you have trans mods done. Tac

If you do the aftermarket turbo downloads it fools the boost. I don't know if that is an option on the Jr.

Thanx.

Fuel and timing control. No pressure that I know of. I`m running one on my 07 with a build date of 08/06. My TST from my 06 will not work on this newer truck. The smarty`s latest release of software has low EGT`s.
At 40 degrees on a heavy pull up hill from 1500 rpm`s in 6th gear it never topped 1000 degrees.

Smarty Jr. does boost fooling, timing advance, injector duration.

Smarty Jr. does boost fooling, timing advance, injector duration. No pressure on the Jr. you have to get the Sr. for pressure. The Jr. was designed for lower EGT's with towing in mind.

Stock turbo will build about 36-38 PSI before the Smarty Jr. program opens the waste gate.

Just got my jr. & when I installed it there were no #'s indicating the different programs. Just Towing, & performance. I did the performance. Thats the 100hp. right? It went in with no problems, & with only 1 run @ WOT, for a few seconds, I note it shifts smoother, & runs good, but I haven't had a chance to realy run it yet.
