I kinda thought the beta 4.4 was a defective software. As I recall, upon dynoing, all the power levels came out nearly the same -- not at all what was intended. If, by chance, it works out for you great...but I'll stay with latest releases.

It was a beta, and you are correct, not much differences between levels.....but if that's the power level you want, it's awesome....it absolutely spanks the latest release on the excitement level...comperable egt's and smoke level as well....so nothing to loose and lots to gain, unless you want to run lower levels / less power and safer settings...then you definately need the standard software.

I have both but will not share the download with anyone !

IMO 4.3 beta is much stronger then 4.4 beta

with my big single 66/71/16ss the smoke on 4.3 is pretty wicked for the streets of Los Angeles but the power is sick.

the 4.4 smoother on levels 7 & 9 far less smoke almost minimal so for the street 4.4 or towing 4.4

big dyno #s track or street racing 4.3 hands down !

It's all in how sensitive the pedal feels. They both put out the same max power. 4.4 drives the best on my truck.

Beta

Im running 3.11b on 9 ,I like the drivability.
I hoping the 230/ 4000 race will have the same.

My truck prefers the 4.3 over the 4.4. definitly more power in the beta,s

Thanks...jrussell. That is what I wanted to hear. You you have compared 4.4 to 2.10b?

I don't need a sensative pedal...the MP-8, Flux 3.3's, and Floor It Pump take car of that...lol.

I got them all...so maybe 4.4 it is. 5" of snow packed down on the ground right now...so SW 0 might be the best anyways...lol.

Not sure if it was 2.10b, but I compared it to 4.2, 4.3, and an older Wild TM version.

My guess would be that 4.2 is the Wild TM version of the betas and 4.4 is the Mild TM version. I say this because 4.2 (and 4.3 to a lesser degree) hold 2nd gear longer than normal with my VB, which is exactly what the Wild TM versions do. Mild TM versions and 4.4 have a perfectly normal 2-3 shift (on my truck anyway).

I don't think the TM really matters when you're at WOT though. I was still breaking the tires loose and cutting low 1.8 60's doing 20psi 4x4 launches with the "milder" 4.4.

Not directly, but I did compare 4.2 and 4.4 at the track and 4.3 and 4.4 on the dyno. All performed about the same. There's a couple threads about it from a few months back.

I remember the thread from months back but it seems like these revised versions with the speed limiter removal and whatever else run better than the original beta's I had.
