Smarty Power on Demand now available in the DTR Store!!
Ahh geez! You got me all excited. When you said POD, I thought you came up with a box for on the dash like the Edge J/A, something I could adjust "on the fly".
Sorry but I really don't see myself reaching over, grabbing the Smarty out of the glovebox, fumbling around to plug it into the OBDII port while flying down the highway at 60mph.
It is a great feature for a great product but I really don't see it as having "on the fly" adjustability.

I've been getting a lot of questions about this product via email. If you have a question about it, it's best to post in this thread. That way either Bob or Marco can read them and answer them directly.
Unfortunately, I don't have the answer to the great many questions being asked, so again, please ask them here. For those of you who might not be able to post here, send the question to me and I'll post it for you.

smarty POD
On the smarty PoD do you have to keep it plugged into the OBDII port and use the console to change the settings or does it have display the sits on the dash; like the edge J/A has. and how easy is it to operate while driving down the road doing 70mph?

it does not use a monitor like the edge j/a. it is the same smarty and you can either leave it plugged in all the time or put in the setting you want and unplug it. when the truck is driven with throttle applied all you have to do is program the PoD level you want (00-99) press and release the throttle twice, the third time you press the throttle the power will be changed. it may sound like a hassle but i assure you that it is very simple.

while plugged in will the obd plug get in the way?
is it possible to mount the smarty somewhere for ease of access in the case you do decide to leave it plugged in so changes can be made on the fly?

There was an article in one of the 4wd magazines recently where they talked about various methods for increasing mileage. One of the items reviewed was the Smarty. First mention of the Smarty that I can recall seeing in any of the print mags. Anyway, and unfortunately, they didn't see any increase in mileage but they did see an increase in performance. I was expecting to read about some mpg gains. Thoughts or comments?
it does kind of get in the way when pluged into the obdII. all i did was remove the obdII connector from it's mount(under the dash), attach the smarty cable to obdII connector, zip tied them under the dash (and out of the way)and rerouted the cable to other side. the cable is actually long enough to reach the lower compartment of the center arm rest
I currently do not have the revo or tnt r downloaded into my smarty yet. I would like to send my smarty back in to get the pod. Would the pod uipgrade effect the download configurations or ability to download new configurations off the mads website at all?
1. Should i get my tnt upgrade before i send the unit back in for the pod upgrade

no need to download tnt into smarty before you send it in because like totallyrad stated, the tnt download off of mads site is not compatible w/ the PoD. however bob can install the PoD tnt before he ships it back to you. just leave him a note in the box.
