SMARTY-not impressed-suggestions?

Ok
So I spent all afternoon playing with SMARTY. It flat does not make as much power as my HOT Juice. I ran the Juice with my mp-8 twice and then with the xzt twice. No boosted launch. Just let off the brake and mash the throttle. They both ran identical times on all runs according to the Attitude monitor. After doing some playing over the weekend I was already pretty sure that the SMARTY would be slower, but I loaded it anyway. I have the program for stock injectors and aftermarket turbo. I loaded sw9 and went testing. I ran it in the same place, the same way twice and it is 8 tenths slower in the 1/4. I knew it would be because it just doesn't pull as hard as the Juice. It also only hits 36psi and the Juice hits 42 and then spikes to 51 when it hits 4th gear.

Ok, so that's what I learned, and now I need some input.
Is that the best the SMARTY will do for me? It seems like it should be the right program selection according to my mods. Should I try a different program and if so which one? Is there a reason that I would be 6psi short on boost other than not enough fuel to push it that far?

I forgot. Which torque management did you use? Did you try the Edge combo yet?

Did you try the SMARTY with either the MP-8 or XZT?

To me the newer version 309 SMARTY update seems softer than the earlier 307.

Yes, the 8 tenths slower with SMARTY on sw9 was with the xzt. I had heard from someone else that the original programming was stronger than the current, but it's not available anymore.

If you want to try it let me know. I have all three torque management versions.

Why won't the smarty work with your hot juice?

Not sure, but most likely it is because the Juice wants to read and modify stock perameters. The SMARTY changes the ECM perameters, and so the Juice doesn't know what to do with them. Just an educated guess though.

Have you tried to stack the two?

Or did someone tell you it wouldnt work?

People stack DLs and moduals all the time.

TST/BD or Smarty

Edge juice and diablo

These are two common stacks

I was told by two people it doesn't work, but I tried it anyway. It doesn't work. The Juice doesn't add any power at all with the SMARTY downloaded.

Omaha Ram, Did you run the Smarty with the MP-8. The program for the aftermarket injectors and turbo will probably be closer to the mark. Your modded pump allows the injectors to flow more fuel on each injection event as the pressure delivered versus the pressure requested by the ECM should be higher. A good matched stack should outperform a standalone everytime except maybe the TST with pressure setup. Your tranny needs to be fully built to handle the Wild. A tc and valve body is a good start....but you are probably slipping the clutches like crazy which is good because that is saving your stock shafts. Was the truck losing traction on the shifts or just boost. If you weren't chirping the tires on the shifts then the torque management with the Juice was working in your favor. 0.8 seconds slower is alot of hp difference so I think there must be some traction differences. I'd stick with the Juice with torque management until I had a fully built tranny. JMO, ks

That's the program I am going to try next. I did run the SMARTY with the mp-8 but wasn't trying to compare times at that point, but it didn't feel any better and nothing like with the HOT Juice. The truck wasn't loosing any traction because I was in 4wd. I also have the defueling turned off in the Juice, so it's not doing anything. There is no way I could do accurate comparisons in 2wd due to tire slippage. The boost was slow to come on and never went above 36. And like I said, the Juice gives me about 42, with a spike to over 50 shifting into 4th. I'm going to try the other program after work today to see if it's any better.

Agreed, My smarty with Wild#9 will easily get my SPS into the 50 psi range, so something in your drivetrain may be letting go, and not causing the engine too reach full load!! I cant make any comparisons, but from what i understand the Aurora 3000 is a similar setup to the SPS6280.
