smarty mp8 stack
smarty mp8 stack
at the moment i have sw3 loaded on my truck for daily driving and was wondering how much hp the mp8 would add for when i wanted to play. i would like to get something that would allow me to be able to adjust on the fly. would a tst be able to add more with its adjustable settings since the smarty is on a low setting? thanks for the help

Well I shouldn't be (no tranny mods), but I am running the smarty on 3, and have a MP-8 stacked... The truck really comes alive when you turn on the MP-8, but just like you want to do I run around with it off- unless I want to kick it in the A$$... You won't regret your purchase...
thanks for the replies. i have been doing some more reading on stacking pressure boxes with the smarty and noticed several people stack the quad x2 with it. is there a lot of difference between the way the mp8 and the x2 adjust the pressure? i dont have a rail pressure guage and the x2 comes with one so maybe that would be a better option?
Yes, I'm sure it does considering it's mostly if not all pressure.
Off topic, but has anyone used both a Quadzilla pressure box and an MP-8? As much good as I'm hearing about the MP-8 I'm wondering if I should try one in place of my Quad X2 pressure only?

I run 4.4 beta on sw5 with the MP-8 set on 50%. Boost is alot quicker, now it spools just like stock, but the smoke is COAL! It will lay it out even at wot! I am very impressed with this setup.
Tom, don't know about the quad box but I did have the RP gauge fail, so I don't know if I would run them together for fear of the same problems.

The MP-8 is a nice little kick in the butt with the Smarty. I keep TNT#1 with no pressure loaded and use the MP-8 when the need arises. I would say it makes the power come on about 2-300 RPM sooner by lighting the turbo quicker. I dont like pressure all the time and thats why I like the MP-8. I never ran the quad pressure only box so I cant comment.

Not to rain on your parade but on my truck the 4.4 is more than enough pressure without the mp8. I would highly recomend cuttin the mp8 off unless you really need it. But IIRC your truck is not a 610 so it may not be as bad but I can cruse at 20k easy and spike to 27 or more with JUST the 4.4.
