Smarty Jr. or what?
Smarty Jr. or what?
I am thinking of dumping my Quadzilla XZT chip and going with the Smarty Jr. My problem with the Quadzilla is the Commander. I has been a pain since the beginning. My question on the Smarty Jr is how good is it for towing? I am mostly stock and will be that way for awhile.
I used to run the Quad Std box, too much rattle, so I sold it.
I run the Smarty JR, I am very happy with it, does the job nicely. I tow, tow heavy, average tow is 20K and can range to 25/26K. It is EXCELLENT for towing set on SW2 with just the defaults. My EGT's are lower, engine runs smoother, fuel economy gained a little, no complaints, just a happy Smarty user.

One thing I notice is that my transmission seems to shift better with Smarty Jr. compared to stock. I recently installed larger tires and I have been playing back and forth with different tunes trying to check mileage with the new tires. SW3 seems to be costing me mileage in town compared to the stock tune, but the truck runs so much better I don't care.
Another happy Jr. user here. Ive done quite a bit of towing with mine, mainly hay bales this summer and was very happy with the results. Was hauling hay up approx 30 miles of interstate pulling some pretty good hills and never had to get out of 6th gear!
