It's when they added the Power On Demand (POD) software.

 

nope wrong 06, the power on demand software for smarty jr has been around alot longer than sept 09. I hear its just changes of the tq management numbers, i didn't notice any difference.

 

GREAT..... What combination of numbers is it this time!

 

I still haven't updated my JR since 2008 before PoD came out. Is it worth it?

 

i don't know which is which in numbers now, all i know is for performance setting, i have it on timing 4 tqmanagment 2 and it moves pretty good, if i change the tq to 4 my tranny absolutely hates me.

 

SCCURF - i dont thinks so i updated mine and always have it set at 99% on what ever SW i am running i never liked lowering the numbers to de-tune the truck because the power wasnt there if you needed or wanted it and the mileage benefits were overstated

This update changes nothing for you and I.
Version 5.08 was the only one where tq 4 and 2 were reversed IIRC.
I think so. I love mine!

 

To update my Smarty Jr. to POD do I just down load the appropriate version or do I need to send in my Jr. and have Bob update it.

5.09 was to correct it back to original but most of us noticed no change.
No with that said. I went to change SW level one day and the Smarty ask me to put back to stock in to make change. So I will say that it feals like it has corrected itself back to original. Mind I never put truck back to stock when I updated Jr to 5.09. So I don't know why.

 

Yea most people that I've talked to said that they had to go back to stock first (I always do) for 5.09 to fix the tq reversal.
