Smarty Jr or S06?

I'm having a tough time deciding on which way I want go to Jr or big daddy! I currently have the Quad X2 which will be stacked with either Smarty as pressure only. I'm not saying I'm as big into power as some I see here, but I don't like stock power either.

I'm just looking for a little help on which way to go. I mainly use my truck for light towing usually up ~8000# on occasion. But most of the time is spent either, 1/2 with only has a tailgate ramp on it (200#) & the other 1/2 its got lawn mower, tractors, etc in the bed or on a trailer.

I would love to have a 600Hp DD, but I can't see that in my budget for the future.

Any imput would be great!

I went with the Jr for a few reasons.. I don't want to deal with the supporting mods for big hp.. and 2 with the new Revo the Jr is exactly what I need.. .I can adjust the timing to get good mileage with no smoke when not towing, and to keep the EGT's down and a little extra power when towing. I can also fine tune the torque management for summer and winter driving.

If 'ya got the extra $150...

Get the PoD.

The seemingly endless adjustability will be great whether you decide to mod your truck down the road, or keep it the way it is presently.

I'd get the Bid Daddy Smarty, leave the Quad off the truck & adjust the rail pressure up with the Smarty if needed.

I got the Jr for now until I save up for a built tranny, then I'll either sell the Jr. or trade it in for the Sr.

I started with the Junior, sold it and bought the SO6. Had that for a week and decided I wanted the PoD. I love all of the control I have with the Revo and the PoD. I would recomend just spending the money and gettin the so6.

i went with the S06...simply because i think it will be a LONG LONG (if ever) time until you out grow it!!

My grandfather used to say the quality lingers on long after the price has been forgotten....

I in NO WAY question the quality of the JR...but I've totally forgotten about the price differential. (Jr v Sr)

i'd vote so6. i only run sw2/rp2/torque4/timing2 but sw9 will always be there waiting. if i chose later on to do more there is tnt and tnt r so ???

either way you will get a good unit

Out of curiosity why not take advantage of the timing? IMHO that is the main reason to buy the Smarty.. 60 extra hp in fuel has to run hot.

I asked the same question as you Tesla about JR vs S06. After talking with a few people including a few diesel techs the majority said for the difference in price go with the S06 and you'll have more adjustability for down the road if you decided you want more power. And after getting the S06 I have to agree with the majority it is well worth the extra money.

not really i have the timing set at 2 that is more timing than stock...and it runs cooler than stock as far as egt. more timing only hides your egt in engine temps. timing 4 just causes way to much rattle and noise but not a regular thing more intermittent. i bought my smarty not for timing but for fuel, rail pressure, torque management, boost fooling, tire size, governor adjust, valet mode, and timing, PLUS it is not a bolt in mod so returning to stock is as easy as 1,2,3..98,99,100 complete...

My 2 cents: if you have the Quad and still want more then you want the S06.

My Bad.... 2 on the Jr is default... I forgot is was a little different on the Sr.

Do you have a rail pressure gauge? I am curious what Smaty timing does compared to stock, if its just peak or cruise it raises.
