I just purchased the smarty jr. and went to use it and it said (unknown software). I previsly used 1 time a diablo preador to tow my camper back in Aug.07. I used it for that trip on the tow tune and when I returned home, I returned the truck back to its original backup and later sold the diablo to a friend who had no problem useing it on his truck. The diablo was the only thing that was ever used on my OBD port. Does anyone know what (unknown software) means? Thanks

 

you must have the brazilian code

do this .

turn key on

Hold down the down key on the smarty jr and then plug it into your obd port.

Once the smarty gets power release the down key and wait for the update screen.

once you are at the update screen press the up key a couple of times and record the numbers

pray you dont get anything similar to 23523573AA

when the diablo was taken off his truck a bogus ecm software was put back not the one that was taken out

 

Is this real bad? How does that get fixed?

 

you will need a recovery program to overwrite the bogus ecm numbers.

 

If I go to the dealer and have the E17 update (that I have aludded), will that help?
