Thumbs up smarty feedback

well i had a buddy update a friends smarty for me to try out. loaded it before we head out on a nice hour and a 1/2 commute. i removed my xzt and loaded sw# 5. mild gain of 90 hp was pretty noticeable. install was pretty easy, took a few minutes to load but i thought it was worth the hassle.

first thing i noticed was how smooth the truck idled after loading it. the timing rattle made by the xzt was 10x louder than that of the smarty. you barely noticed any. you could really tell the difference in shifting with the smarty torque management, everything was smooth and not so sluggish/uneasy with the xzt/stock. she definitely got a much need kick in the *** from the smarty- she really gets up and goes with the 90 hp setting. she even rolls alittle smoke i kept an eye on my mpg, and saw a small increase. overall i def noticed an increase in mileage- i usually get around 250 to a 1/2 tank, i saw right around 305 to a 1/2 tank. im sitting now with about 3/8 tank left and i have about 375, ill have no prob hitting 400 at a 1/4.

overall i like it. its fun, i am romping on her every now and then rolling alittle smoke and having fun cruising. im half tempted to try the 130 hp setting on her to see how it is. def a nice product

I'm so close to pulling the trigger on one. I just don't know if it would benefit me much since i have stock turbo right now, I am already running the tst on mine and plan on stacking smarty with it. I think my egts would go through the roof

Pesonally, The best set up I have ran is on my 04 . The only mods are muffler delete, mac intake, glacier liftpump, smarty stacked with mp-8, and a clutch. I still run a stock turbo, injectors, and cp3. I run the smarty on 9 all the time. I have run it like this for around 40000 miles and have had no trouble!! I love it and it smokes like heck!! Has no problem towing! Smarty is the way to go. I ran it on 9 before I had a clutch, and it did slip. I just learned not to bog the motor and drove it for around 10000 miles before I put the clutch in! Smarty is the way to go!!

the boost fooling in the aftermarket programs will get you more boost to help with the egts, not to mention you have open pipe all the way out, so that helps to. I love mine to death!

Their wicked programs will leave a stock auto a smoking heap of aluminum.

I've been thinking hard about getting a smarty. I have an XZT now, & can hit 1450* pretty easy loaded. Can I run the smarty on 90, & see lower EGT's?

thats another thing i noticed, the truck runs cooler and cools down quicker. i dont think the updates my friend did to his smarty included boost fooling, cause the turbo would hit 28 and drop to about 20/21. i dont have any fueling mods yet, but i intend to do so.

The funny thing is that SW #3 is only 60hp! Just imagine the #9 170hp setting!

The Smarty is definitely serious. The Smarty/TST stack is about the best around too. Have you checked the build date of your '06 to make sure the TST is safe to use on it? TST no longer sells their boxes for trucks built after June, 2006.
