smarty beta v:4.10c d:2.10B any users?

I am curious as to who has used or is using this beta program. All the posts I've been reading so far have to do with beta 4.3 and 4.4 downloads (and guys with all sorts of aftermarket power ventures going on.)

I am looking for fuel economy input and keeping it in the stock safety zone.

I tested the stock software conservatively sw#3 and lost mpg.(i.e. avoided the lead foot syndrome)

I am wondering A) who is using this an B) what would be a recommended SW#1, 2,or 3 primarily for stop and go trips to gain better economy on a stock 04.5 quad cab 3.73 auto. (stop and go meaning that my drive is a 5 mile drive and I have 5 stop signs along the way - I know that Im asking for miracles here)

thanks for the input. bc3

I have been running D:210B for about 1,000 miles now. I am not sure how much my mileage input will help. I loaded SW #9 soon after I got it and have been driving with that level ever since.

Smoke compared to any other version released or Beta is much, much better. It smokes a little when it should, but does not black out intersections and cleans up very quick.

EGTs are so much lower it is amazing on mine.

I have two trips to Austin so far and my mileage was about the same as the last released version I ran on SW 6. I was driving 75-85 on the highway with either a strong cross or head wind so I suspect if I was running same SW 6 mileage would be up.

Everything seems a little smoother from idle to WOT top end. It does not have the power of the last released version (Wild TM, Aftermarket Turbo) that I ran or the Beta version, but plenty for daily driving. My transmission is shifting much smoother with this Mild TM version for sure.

Some have posted they have injector rattle with this vesion, but I don't. Rail pressure is about stock levels even with my EZ on Level 1.

I am impressed with the lower smoke, lower EGTs and smoother shifting, but I will be looking for the Moderate or Wild TM version as soon as available. But thats just me.

I uploaded the beta v:4.10cd:210B at the same time as my new tranny was installed, so I've been racing around pretty much everytime I get in the truck, which means I don't have any relevant MPG results at this time.

Prior to the beta software, I had just been running the stock files that come with the Smarty. I occasionally had it on SW7 or SW9, but knew my tranny was on it's way out, so it'd been on SW3 for the last 10,000 miles or so. Compared to stock SW3, the new beta SW9 smokes considerably less on my truck. I know some people report louder injector rattle, but mine actually sounds quieter...weird!

I took my Quad Commander out while I was upgrading to the Quad X2 along with the new harness. It should be here tomorrow, so I should be able to post again in a week or so on the new EGTs.

Like RamWheelsBy4 mentioned, everything seems a little smoother from idle to WOT. I, too, will be looking for a Wild TM version when it's available!

I found my best MPG to be on sw7 with the "old" program and it is on sw5 with the "new" program. Each truck seems to respond uniquely to these files so it may take some fooling around to find the best choice for you.

I've found sw7 on just about every program I've tried to yield the best MPG. You must have discipline if your stock!

I've just been running the new Beta for a few hundred miles. On this first tank I'm seeing 19.8 mpg. That is up 2mpg over stock. I have found the best mileage on level 5 on the standard Smarty (mild torque increase) on the former software as well as this. I haven't run level 3 on this one yet. The smoke is a lot lower and the EGT's are about 200 degrees lower. Shifting seems smoother and the engine is a bit quieter. No timing rattle.

Mileage will always increase in the spring and summer. Right now everything is cold and the engine won't heat up to proper operating temps on short runs, so economy is tough to get. You also have the running gear being stiffer so the engine has to burn more fuel to overcome that problem.

Assuming you have an auto trans., I would recommend level 3 as the best for you unless you can drive very carefully on level 5. Marco believes that level 3 will match level 5 for mileage on this version. I haven't had time to ty to prove it yet.

Give it a try.

You noticed the smoother shifting too. I wasn't sure at first but seems to be less jerky from the throttle transition.

I'm about to go from level 3 to 5 for the next fuel economy run.

I have it, but it is tough to tell if there is any gain based on the following:

1. Winter Fuel
2. Windy
3. Snow is coming
4. My driving is all city for the next 10 days.

It will be difficult for me to post mileage gains/losses because the conditions are so much different than when I ran the Beta 4.4 this summer. I figure if I don't loose mileage with all this, that I will gain this summer. Who knows for sure though!

I was hoping that would be fixed issue. I loaded sw 7 moderate torque on mine from sw 5 and the throttle transition is very touchy, so I've been driving a little harder lately. Man I'd love to have the new beta, but don't know if I should request it from Bob, he seems to be a very busy man.

My overall mileage on D:210B for the first 1200 miles was a little lower than the previous released version and stack. But I have been running on SW 9. I loaded SW 7 Sunday and will run that for at least a tank. Will compare power and mileage. Then drop to SW 5 for the same. I doubt I would run below SW 4 or 5 with this version, my mod combo likes fuel and a little throttle to be happy.

Still very happy with the smoke(almost none), low EGTs and very smooth transmission shifting.
