I'm very happy with my Smarty, blows the TS box out of the water. the 30hp program is definately stronger than the TS cranked all the way

Smarty? All I can say is you better have a bad Edit tranny, the fueling and reduction in TQ Mgmt is crazy. My banks, by dyno, has given me an honest 120hp and I've had it for 2 1/2 years now w/ no tranny problems or slippage. I installed the Smarty on #5 90hp w/ timing and my tranny doesn't know what to do. The throttle response is so immediate, w/ so much less turbo lag, then you get into the mid range, it falls flat, then you take off again on the top end until 109mph or so(speed limiter). Marco has got to get rid of the speed limiter in my opinion. I wont be able to give real accurate conclusions until next week, I'm having a flex plate, BD Diesel VB and TC installed, maybe then I can rule out my tranny weakness. I'll let you guys know.
One thing for sure is it fills the gap my 6 gun has from 0-1900rpm, and I know of a few other boxes that I've used have this same lag in power from lower rpms, if I can just get the fueling of the 6 gun to take over at the mid range loss of fueling from the smarty I will be very pleased w/ this combo. I know a fuel pump mod is needed also, that will be next.

Sawboy, your truck will, IMHO, be best served with the Smarty and small pressure box. Your '03 responds differently the the 325/600 engines, the Bully Dog and PPE downloaders do not have the high horsepower programs for the small engines (305/555) and frankly, I don't think they are nearly as evolved or refined as they are for the 600's. Find someone in your area that has a Smarty and give it a try, everyone that I know can't believe the great drivability and performance that it delivers. I have a large laggy turbo and my cruise control even works great with the highest level (7) program loaded and the TST on 2-1.

I've owned and run a BD DL, PPE DL, Edge products, TS, TST and after bad experiences with both the BD and PPE I would not recommend either as you will not get the factory program stock into your ECM. They also have other driveabliltiy glitches I'm not knocking BD or PPE Companies in general as I currently choose to run a PPE presure box with my TST/Smarty stack.

BD makes some fine products, I won a lot of sled pulls with their 2nd Gen BD-8 injectors but the BDDL for the '03 and earlier '04 haven't performed very well. I don't own a 600 but the ones that have loaded my Smarty or others Smarty/Catcher programs rave about it and don't want to give it up.

You show a stock turbo so a Smarty and pressure box should be more then enough.

Haven't tried the HOT Juice/EZ stack as of yet. My Juice is in-route to Utah to be upgraded to HOT. I know a guy that had a HOT Juice/EZ stack, a SPS 66 turbo, a FASS, and a tranny and he dynoed around 485hp running a 13.8 quarter mile. I've hit 13.96 with the standard Juice/EZ....and the CL/Quad BF is tons faster than that.

Roger rodbolt- I tried a smarty and didn't like it compared to my bullydog....and my friend tried it on his 03 and he would rather have his Juice. its all preference and driving style...but for me it just wasn't happening. I tried different levels and didn't like any of them. level 9 is the highest, not 7....but 7 got too hot for my stock turbo in a hurry....just my 2 cents if its worth anything.

973604x4,
Level 8 and 9 are for the "600" engines, the Smarty instructions show level 7 as the highest for our "555" engines. We can load the higher levels but not get the same hp benefit. The Smarty is impressive by itself or with a bit of pressure. When it's stacked other boxes the CP3 just can't keep up and as with any stack you can get too much duration. Also there are a number of aftermarket injectors for the 600 engines that are less then ideal..........

SawboyWV1,
I've not used the VA pressure box but I'd guess it's would work fine. An Edge EZ will stack nicely with the Smarty and they are available used/cheap if your VA doesn't run to your liking.

Everyone's opinion of different products will be subjective. We all like different things. There are things I like better about my Triple Dog and things I like better about my Smarty. Over all, if I could only have one of them, right now I think the Triple Dog would be the one I would keep. It has too many features the Smarty can’t match and half the price to boot. The power levels between the two for each year truck are currently the same.
