smartey problem fixed!

Thanks guys! i unplugged the fuel pump and the smarty fixed the problem!

my next question is a non emergecy, .

How hard is it to install a twin turbo on my 05 ram? i got a quote for around 7,000 bucks from 2 different shops. thats the new bd turbo, manifold ,labor and parts and pieces. is it really that difficult? my dump truck mechanic works on 5 of our trucks for 35 an hour cash and says its easy, hes never done a twin but says there aint much to it? is this the case? he is a very good mechanic on all our dump trucks , but is this job as hard as the shop makes it out to be? my mechanic thinks he could be done in a day..? if this is the case, i would save around 3 grand or so? thats head studs and all!!

any opinions ??

I have never installed a set of twins, however, I hear the biggest problem is either missing something from the kit (or if you piece it together), or stuff not matching up right.

If you were going to piece it together, post what you buy up in the forums, make sure you're not missing anything. Just be prepared to have to get something fabbed or go to Napa if you are missing something.

I can't see it being that hard. I've installed a couple of turbos, nothing to it. Another pair of hands is always nice, and stay away from the beer until after you're done

I cant agree more pace yourself with the booze or your be having to find someone else to take it out for the first test drive. just to find out you didnt tighten the turbo to manifold nuts and the onlything holding your turbo on is the intake and exaust pipe.

A twin kit install in the driveway is going to definately be a full day install. If you do go with a kit it is going to cost more up front, but you are going to have everything. No fabbing up of parts and usually no running to the parts store for missing things. Plus buying a kit takes the guess work out of it. No more try this turbo and try that one and see how it works. You just bolt em on, break em in and go..............
