Slipping clutch with only Diablosport Predator on 60HP???
well my clutch lasted about 1500-2000 miles on the exteme but i dont know how old this clutch is because i bought the truck used i ordered my new valair FE clutch and will be intalling this weekend btw ebay has great deals
Just picked up a diablosport predator, since i just wanted a very mild power increase - since I did NOT want to go through the $1200 clutch route again like I did on my '99.
Well, installed the mildest program, get on the throttle, and the stock clutch can't even hold it - with only 10,500 miles on the odometer.
I only let it slip once briefly (all too familiar), got out of the throttle and programmed it back to stock tuning.
I may have to ship my predator back - I'm not going the new clutch route.
Are the stock clutches really this close to the edge with stock power????
Basically, as it stands almost no HP increase is usable.

First time out i rolled into the throttle in 3rd gear and at about 2k rpms it slipped like a 300k mile burned up clutch..my truck has 19k miles on it
Only thing is i used to have a smarty and i never ran it over 90 horse, and the clutch NEVER slipped once....I even did alot of towing on the 60 and never had a slip.
I think something is up with the diablo tuner because the so called 60 horse tow tune feels like at least 100 or more
All i wanted was a mild hp increase, i think the programming must be backwards on this thing. As i have time im going to try each program and see if one of them is the tow tune. I hate to try and deal with diablo's service yet.
Sorry guys, forgot to turn on the signature in the original post.
It's an 07 3500 5.9L with the 6spd G56.
Wow - seems everyone's clutch is holding better than mine. I thought it would hold the extra 60 ponies easily, but apparently mine is probably not all that far off not even holding stock power.
I went for the mild tune just to keep on the safe side, but had to resort to stock tune immediately.
I guess I've got to suck it up and ship my Predator back to the dealer and forget about power upgrades on this rig. Sucks, but such is life.

Ya i had a guy on here before told me i was crazy, when i said the stock clutch in front of the nv5600 would hold a LOT more than the g56. Read these guys posts with the early NVs, and my self have put big power to the stocker for sometimes years. The G56s are closer to the edge from the factory for sure. I have another friend with a 07 his sliped with the ez, thats only 65hp over factory. I ran 150hp over stock for 3 years.
i dont understand why my clutch would hold up to the smarty or 30 and 60 towing up to 24k, and 90 unloaded and never show a sign of slipping...then 15k miles later with 19k on the clock i put the supposed 60 horse diablo tow tune and the thing slips the clutch in 3rd gear half throttle?
the smarty smoked way to much even in the lowest setting, it was even worse towing. I hated the smarty, it was almost impossible to drive easy without billowing smoke.
i tried the 60 horse puck tune and it feels like a 60 horse tune... no slipping clutch. there must be something programmed wrong for the 60 horse regular tune for the 7131 tuner

did you try the performance/economy setting,im not sure aboutthe 7131[i have a 7130}but the perf tune doesnt seem to have the low end grunt that the tow tune does, that may be easier on the clutch,im running it now as we get into winter season so the tires dont spin as easy in the snow.
