im thinking of sled pulling my truck this weekend i was want to know what setting i shuuld set my smarty on im running revo.i pulled my dump trailer with 8 ton of rock the other day on setting 3 tm2 timing4 rp2 wastgate off.would that be ok for the sled pull?

 

Should a guy be using that much timing while pulling? I used that #4 setting pulling a horse trailer and 4 horses and I had a ton of rattle, it didn't sound good. I know timing reduces egt's but even so, could too much timing cause a melted piston in the engine before a guy even saw it on the guage?

 

i pulled mine w/tnt on level 9 couple weeks ago. no problem. lay the timing back to #2 or default and crank it up. i saw no more than 1300 deg. but you might be hotter w/ stock turbo. still not going to hurt anything for a few seconds.

 

Set everything to kill and let it RIP!! It should be Fine for just a sled pull IMO

 

Id be worried about that tranny... do you have any work done to it?
