Silver 64

I was contmplating new a turbo for my 2003 cummins... if I got a Silver 64 what size injectors would you suggest running? I was thinking around 120's or so. How much power would this turbo make with a stage 3 pump, 120 hp injectors and Smarty TNT W/ MP8?

Anybody have any ideas? I know everybody hates the "how much power will I make threads", but I have no experience with this turbo and what I really want to know is what size injectors I should go with. I want to make some good power but I don't want my egt's to be insane. I never tow anything if that helps at all. Thanks a lot guys

I would get 90's, but have a 04.5. I have no experience with the earlier model. That is alot of turbo for an auto so maybe bigger with that taken into consideration.

Think I'd make around 550whp with the 90's? I just want my egt's to be in check. If I ran 120's with water injection do you think that would be fine?

Go with Flux 2's and your egt's will be fine. My 62 and flux 2's are an awsome combo. You may even be able to go to 2.5's.
Good luck,

With the Smarty on 9 I can run the egt's up to 1400 but that's when I'm in high gear. If I'm running at 75 mph and jump on the foot feed the egt's will climb but once the boost catches up the egts will drop back off. By the way from 75 to 100 mph it takes about 2 seconds.
Take care,
Topper

you should also consider head studs, while you are in there doing the sticks, is a good time........ sure a lot better than after you blow a head gasket and need towing + downtime.

put the studs i when you put the injectors in, i would run 90's to keep in a good daily drivver

Yeah, I was going to do studs, springs, rods, cam and injectors at the same time, can never be too careful. And then if I ever went the twins route I would do o-rings and full port and polish on the head with a custom individual intake runner... but that is WAY down the line if ever

What kind of power would the 64, 90's, smarty- MP8 stack make... with all of the proper fuel supply of course?

Would I be safe running 120hp injectors with water injection or would that still be pushing it? I have heard that the 03-04 trucks like running bigger injectors... correct me if I am wrong, I will never be towing and I have afe intake, 5 inch exhaust, banks intercooler with high ram intake (came on the truck, wanting an HTT intercooler in the future)... I feel like if I was spraying water I could get away with the 120's... If I will be pushing this charger way too hard let me know guys.

Thanks

With water shouldn't be a problem. What are your hp goals that you need 120's? People that had second gens before think that they need 200 hp stix to get 600 hp and that is far from true. Third gens don't require the big hole injectors. You can get 650 hp fairly easy with 90's but the end result should make up your mind. The 90's will push the 64 to its limits. IMO

I was mainly concerned with spooling the turbo... but I don't want to push it too hard. I guess 90's should be fine... I guess if I ever do twins I can just get bigger injectors then. I'm not trying to get to any specified power level... I just want to run big enough injectors to where I am actually utilizing the bigger turbo, but not so big that my egt's will be out of control.

Thanks for the help

I would personally do 120's. I have been running 90's on my Silver 62 with smarty and Quad maxed out and still feel I could use more fuel. Studs are a must but you need to go bigger than 90's. Good Luck, Tom J.
