Has anyone tried to put newer seats in a older truck? I have a 2006 mega cab and looking at a set of seats from a 2010 ram 1500.

I have leather seats fram a a 2010 waiting to bolt into my 2005 2500 as soon as I have the time to do it. More then several people have already done the mod--

Basically, the front seats and console are plug'n play except that the female seatbelt bracket on the 4th gen seats also needs to be switched to the oem 3rd gen that is already in your truck ( as the newer belt latch is different then the older one). The rear seats also fit right in with only a sleight cut to the 4th gen seat bracket or the 3rd gen rear cabin wall. There are several install threads on cumminsforum with more details, maybe even one on this forum if you do a search.

 

I have a mega cab, will the rear seats work or would I need to do some customizing?
