scratches on torque converter

What would cause scratches on the t/c? A few months ago when on the dyno we were trying to get a torque reading so the tech took the t/c inspection plate off when we looked at the t/c it had scratches all over it.

There is a TSB# 21-009-07 for the 1-2-1-2 shift problem there is an updated governor pressure solenoid on the valve body, not sure if your trany builder used the updated one or not.
