Thumbs up Scotty Smart Fuel System is available now!

http://www.scottyairsystems.com/pricing.htm

The kit includes the aluminum custom adapter for the filter housing, aluminum frame bracket for the Holley pumps, two 90 elbow JIC to 1/2" push lock fittings, one double tapped metric adapter to 1/2" JIC and rubber/steel washer with one 1/8" npt plug for ease of indexing for your fuel pressure hook up, one non tapped Metric to 1/2" JIC fitting and rubber/steel washer, 3/8" npt 90 to 1/2" push lock out of your pump, 3/8" npt straight with 3/8" push lock into your pump as well as four feet of the highest quality 1/2" aeroquip hose on the market. No more puncturing your skin with braided hose!

Things you will need,

- The Cummins pigtail from the factory pump or splice the leads to the pump you choose to use. I was going to supply the pigtail but the price is high up here and the supply is slow.
- An alternate fuel pump to the factory pump. I am running the Holley blue with great results running an old 6 level EZ with the latest VA box stacked on max of course. I can pull the pressure down to 6 at WOT throttle breifly with quick recovery to 12 at cruise and 15 psi at idle. I currently have just over 10,000 miles on this set up.
The stock pump with just the EZ went to ZERO on an ISSPRO gauge and negative 2 on a digital gauge.

Scotty, this kit leaves a little confusion in my mind. What is the pigtail, is it on the truck currently or something one would need to buy? I'm assuming the kit elminates the stock fuel pump entirely? Pics would be great..

Thanks for posting the P/N Richard. I'm still not sure I understand exactly how everything hooks up, but that helped.

Lightman...breathe. I will get installs up asap.

Heres a simple run down...

Remove the hardline and banjo bolts from the filter housing to the CP 3 injector pump.

Remove the factory lift pump

Use the hose that feed the factory lift pump and it goes on the 3/8" pushlock that is threaded into the Holley pump at the frame.

Then you you will run 1/2" out of the Holley pump up to the custom adpater that attaches to the filter housing, it has a push lock on it too.

then you install the straight non tapped Metric to JIC fitting in the bottom of the filter housing. I found it easier to access this from the wheel well then from up top.

Then you will install a 1/2" JIC 90 to Push lock onto that fitting onthe bottom of the filter housing.

Install the tapped metric to JIC fitting in the hole on the CP3 pump where you removed the banjo and hardline.
then install a JIC 90 to push lock there too.

Hook up your fuel pressure gauge to the tap in the metric adpater that lines up best for you and be sure to have the 1/8" npt plug in tight on the one you are notusing.

Hook up your 1/2" hose from filter housing to CP3.
I used just a small dab of diesel oil on them so they slide on better.

DO NOT USE HOSE CLAMPS ON PUSH LOCKS
You can cut the hose.

Then take the cummins pigtail and plug it into the factory lead.
Extend the wiring to the Holley pump leads and hook it up.

I will have install instructions up very soon and will post a link.

If anyone is not certain they can handle this install I would look at getting a qualified shop to do it for you.

Here is a picture of the extension harness from Cummins. Just plug it into the factory lift pump plug, cut the remaining end off and extend to reach your new pump. I'm going to use my extended harness to trigger a relay for the new pusher pump. This way the pump load is on the relay instead of the factory harness. The pumps and pump relay kits are available thru Summit's online catalog. Hope this helps.

BTW Scotty, beautiful job on the machined adapter. Very nice, high quality piece.

Thanks again...

Richard

What do you search for on Ebay for the pig tail harness...no luck here.

Thanks!
