ANy thoughts on a good scan tool?

 

I purchase an Auto X-Ray 6000 quite few years ago and have been quite happy with it. It enables you to download the data to your PC (not Mac friendly yet) so you can keep 'records' of the data. For some people, pricey but I can use it on my other vehicles. Originally used for 1989 Ford F-250 which was not OBD II protocol yet it works with OBD II and CAN protocols (2008 onward). The tool is internet updateable from Auto X-Ray.

There are many other ones out there and it just depends on what flexibility you require. To read just codes there are many much less expensive ones.

If all you want is a scan type tool to pull codes, get a Bully Dog GT. You'll get the added joy of a tuner and an assortment of gauges too!
