SBC issues

i have a 3600 dd and it broke an eye bolt on the pressure plate so they sent me a new 1 and installed that one while i still had to pay for all the laber and i was fine with that and up till the eye bolt broke the clutch was great , the eye bolt broke and you couldnt disengage the clutch. know that i have the new preasure plate in they sent me, wheni take off in second the clutch makes a howl sound while letting the clutch out a little quick but no where neer dumping it and only a little throttle maybe 900 rpm if im lucky just enough to get a little chug out of the motor, when before it would just bark the tires and it really does it if u dumpit with the rpm is up when normally the once or twice i did it just lit the tires for a second and took off now it howls then has a little kick not even a tire bark. it also does it when down shifting manly coming off the highway say im in 6th at 1800rpm and let the clutch out rather quick into 5th jumping the rpm to 2500 or so. doesnt matter if its 6th to 5th or 5th to 4th or 4th to 3rd want can it be? it was fine until i put there new plate in and the truck only has about50-70hp over stock and this thing is rated for 650hp

how many miles are on it since the pressure plate install? You cant just jump in one and hammer on it. It needs to break in some. After putting 500 miles on my FE it had a completely different feel to it.

mine has had a little howl to it for 40000 miles. Some seem to do it more than others. This clutch probably engages smoother than your other one and howls a little as it does it. If its slipping when the clutch is all the way out, that's bad. But as long as its slipping a little and then hooking when the clutch is fully released, that would be fine in my opinion.

I can't remember exactly, but didn't the pressure plate have a new disc on one side of it. It would need to be broken in properly too.

My first DD 3600 I bought howled bad. I have no idea what was causing it. Broke it in according to the instructions, just howled. 1st, 2nd, on starts, downshifts, etc. Finally couldn't take it, it was embarassing to have a $50K truck with that expensive of a clutch sound that bad. I eventually replaced the clutch with a 3250 DD and it has been better. Howls/barks even once and a while, and even the rattling the clutch was making sounds better.

You guys all have G56's so my input may not matter but are you talking about the howl when the clutch is engaged. Kind of a "huuuuuuuh" sound or is it really loud?
