it started tonight, i parked the truck and before i turned it off it was idleing really rough and the truck was shaking (not really bad) enough to make my gauge needles vibrate around. anyway this is the first time the truck has ever done this and i was wondering if something may be wrong any help would greatly be appriciated, thanks.

you aint the first one baby. MAN o man does mine rough idle BAD sometimes. just SOMETIMES. if there is 1 flaw of the cummins its that rough idle. i dont know if it has to do with fuel filter or cold weather but truck shakes. i dont know if only 3 cylinders run during warmup like the big ISX engines.(they run rough at startup to)

thanks for the info, the main reason it worried me is that it has never acted like that before plus the truck had been running a while and its not all that cold out

Mine "sometimes" idles rough and sometimes cranks 4 times longer to start at work when I go to leave and when it cranks a long time it has no power like the turbo turned itself off????

Anyway I did a bunch of reading and remembered the bare wire by the a/c unit (its a sticky at the top of the forums) and tomorrow I am going to check mine out. You might also.
