I would be cautions about using the sensor with performance boxes that fiddle with your truck's timing. If the timing gets advanced too much it will throw a code up at you.

 

The ROKKTECH site mentions which boxes are compatable.

 

My thoughts as well and the reason I went with the Roktech

 

I did the sensor mod just so I could return the truck to 100% stock if a waranty issue came up.

Those who want to do the tone ring mod to save $60 great but my waranty is worth $60 if that makes me a worry wart in someones eye's so be it. it was piece of mind to me. If they found a modified tone ring your waranty is gone. If I would have already voided my waranty somewhere else I would have done the tone ring mod.

I have the 04.5 and my milage sucked out ofthe gate. 13-14 around town. 15-16 hwy best. I had the milage tsb performed, I did the sensor. right now I am at about 15 around town and 17-18 hwy only. I am a bad example because I have 37's but the one day I drove my truck stock it was not showing more than 14-15 on the overhead.

so I got about .5mpg on the tsb flash and .5 mpg on the sensor and about 1mpg as the engine broke in I think.

You are not going to get milage out of an exhaust on an 04.5 IMO as it already is 4". I am am not sure an air filter is going to do. I was going to get one but my nieghbor but an airaid on his 04 555 and lost 1mpg. So I have left that alone.

I see people posting in great mileage but my truck has never delivered it. I wasthinking of just trying the quad xzt module for a milage only kind of mod. If I could get my truck to 16 around town and 18-19 hwy with my tires I would be happy.

 

70$! That's less than a tank of Diesel! Less than dinner out! Wow, flexibility and price. And at that price, you can toss it in the trash if you don't like it!!

You could always just turn the tone ring back a hair.It will NEVER be noticed.Eaither way is same results.

 

so if you motor failed they would never disassemble down to the tone ring? do they rebuild or replace on that kind of instance?

 

Probrly never notice it same as some from the factory are slightly clockwise and some counter clockwise.Unless some one knew of this "adujstment' I doudt it would EVER be noticed.

 

You can bet that DC knows about this modification...both the tone ring mod and the sensor mod...but it would take a trained eye to notice it. But, if my warranty is voided it will be because of the other modifications that I have made to my truck...not the tone ring.

 

Well I'll tell you with all the messages wrote about this mod if the Co dont know by now ,there sure sleeping down there. But then they probly are sleeping, they left the 4th gear lockout out of the 05s.
