Unhappy Rokk Tech Timing Sensor

I reinstalled my stock timing sensor. The Rokk Tech made me loss 1.5 MPG at 2° and at 1°. Low end was better but not worth the 1.5 MPG lost.

If there was any other problems, I would think the mod sensor was bad, but no other issues.

I'm gonna send the Rokk Tech to my old man who has a 2004.5. He is only getting about 15 MPG, hopefully this will work out for him.

I'm back to my 20 MPG and all is good.

From what I've read, it works better on the 600 engines than the 555s.

Works on my 555. Picked about 1mpg for around town driving, 2mpg towing and no change for highway empty.

Highway is 22-23mpg. Around town was 17-18mpg with a light right foot.

I was already getting 20 MPG non-highway miles. I never had a chance to do all highway miles so I don't have that figure.

I would be curious to know how many 2004.0 actually had negative MPG when they installed the modified sensor. I wonder if the those that have had a negative result, actually had their tone ring wheel installed correctly at the factory, or incorrectly. It's just a wild guest, so probably not.

That's before the Rokktech sensor was installed. Now my around town is 19-20mpg with a light foot and no change for highway. Pickup 2mpg towing.

Remember, that could be the difference between winter and summer diesel formulations.

also when installing you got to make sure to rotate it CLOCKWISE to get the sensor all the way up into the housing to the timing is advanced...took me a couple times with my big hands and fat fingers to get the allen wrench snugged enough to hold while I pushed up on the sensor to make it rotate and then be able to tighten it down.

I think I am getting almost a full 1.0mpg increase as I just did another tank of fuel and a run to myrtle beach yesterday to check mpg...

hand calc: 15.3mpg city/country road mix; 19.1mpg highway at 1800-2000 rpms (65-70mph).

I think the line-x spray on liner makes it run faster too.....
