Satellite Radio

Anyone have Sat. Radio in their truck? I have been listening to sirius on the Pc for a few hours and the country roadhouse seems to play some fair tunes. Anyone use the service that can comment on it?

well worth the price, i have factory radio sirius in mine wife is dumping sirius in hers and going to xm as sirius has dropped fox radio. they are basically the same with just a few gimicks. sirius now has howard stern, i personally do not care for him but to drop fox was a mistake i my opinion. if i did not have built in i too would be going back to xm

Thank you. I would appreciate it. After listening tonight I am almost convinced to go buy on this weekend. I have a Kenwood headunit that is sirius ready so its kinda easy for me I guess. If I dont get it this weekend I will look forward to hearing how you like it.

Well, I can get either XM or Sirius and the radio will control it. The only thing is that the XM will not let me surf by catagory and the Sirius will. Since I listen primarily to country I would like the catagorization (sp) but I guss once you find your stations you wouldnt need it huh.

I have a Delphi head unit for XM in my 06. It is mounted just over the trash bag hook, to the left of the glove box. Plays through the stock radio system in the truck.
I prefer XM as it has Major League Baseball- from Spring Training (in about 4 weeks) through the World Series.
The Delhpi head pops out, and plugs into a boom box for tunes on the go.

This was just discussed in depth here: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ad.php?t=87597

I have XM and love it... I am sure Sirius is very similar in their programming (except Howard Stern )

You will enjoy it.

my truck came with Sirius and I love it.... I was disappointed that FOX NEWS was dropped for ABC...but I love the NFL Channel, NRA Radio(Patriot), RAW DOG (Uncensored Comedy) and Octane for my rock music...plus plenty of blues, jazz and other no matter your tastes.

Either one would be great but am very satisfied with Sirius and all teh ball games they play plus the NFL channel. They even have a channel for Truck Drivers....not listened yet to see what it plays.

Make sure to see what each offers and compare them to what you like to listen to. I have the XM now, but may switch to Sirius due to some channels that they offer. Especially related to sports packages. I am using an FM modulator $49.95 XM unit that plays through my factory radio and if I had it to do over I would just get Sirius and pay the additional amount for it to run directly from the radio. When you have an FM modulated XM unit when you travel from town to town on a long run you have to keep changing the FM modulated station on your radio as it have poor reception. Also FM modulation is not as clean a sound as a direct wired unit in your dash.

You can get a wired FM modulator for $25 that will cure this. I run my MyFi through this, and it works perfectly: FM Modulator
