HI , I have the 4" MBRP exhaust, sounds awesome till I am towing my trailer. Has anyone ever tried putting a resonator on it? Do you think this would decrease performance much??

I hope this helps. My brother added his original resonator back to his 4" exhaust and has not noticed any change in egt's or performance. His is a 2002, but I don't that matters.

 

I have an 06 which came with the 4" from the factory, but I did add a high flow diesel muffler. It is pretty loud above 2000 rpm on the outside, but you wouldn't even know it wasn't stock from the inside. I would put the resonator back on and see if it changes. Also, I've heard the location of your tip can cause a drone. Is yours sticking out past the rear quarter? If it isn't you might try that first if you have a bolt on tip. Or change both.
